Beneficiary of Salvation:

sincerelyshans

"Heir of salvation, purchase of God,

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.”

These are the ones to a popular hymn titled “Blessed Assurance.” I found myself singing this song today and thought that I should share my thoughts on this short verse. It was truly a blessing and an eye opener.

We are the heirs of salvation, purchase of Yahweh/God. I looked up the word heir and it means "a person legally entitled to the property of another on that person's death". This song is saying that Yahshua/Jesus died for us in order for us to be heirs of salvation. We are beneficiaries of salvation!

In regards to general legal terms, in America when a person plans the distribution of their estate or property, among beneficiaries, he or she will typically put responsibility for the matter into the hands of that person. A beneficiary is someone who is legally bound to represent the individual in making decisions regarding the estate or property and to oversee all matters. This is a legal obligation for anyone appointed.

Yahweh/God made us beneficiaries of His salvation and as a result, we have a responsibility to uphold the standards He has set for us on how to live our lives accordingly, written out in the Living Word, the Bible. Our estate is the lives we live. We have a responsibility to make the right and just decisions regarding our lives because we are beneficiaries of Yahweh's salvation.

How do you take responsibility for your life? Spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally, or even socially? As the song says, if you are “blessed and assured that Jesus/Yahshua is [yours]”, I encourage you to consider this responsibility that is yours as a believer in Yahweh/God.
