  • Life is a roller coaster, and you rarely ever know what dips and turns to expect, but here are five tips that I have learned during the ride of life to help me not be a victim of my circumstances, but a conqueror of them!

  • Trust Yahweh/God in order to Trust the Process - I've learned that Yahweh/God allows certain things in our lives to happen due to one, or sometimes all, of these three reasons —to deepen our relationship with Him, draw others closer to Him, or to make us stronger. Making sure that we trust Him in the process is crucial because it allows you to hold on to who is truly in control of the circumstance, causing you to let go of the control.

  • Do that thing that you know will make you happy - When we are discouraged sometimes the last thing we want to do is do something that will make us happy. It may feel like the extra energy you don’t have. Nevertheless, I urge you to push yourself to do a positive thing that will lift your mood. Whether it's going for a walk, going out to eat with a friend, praying, or exercising, do something that will uplift your spirit in a positive way.

  • Change your environment- Go for a walk outside, go to a different room, or even sit in your car for a bit! Change your environment by getting into a different space to clear your mind and shift the atmosphere.

  • Talk to a trusted person - Find a trusted person that you can simply call and say "hey, I got a lot on my mind, I don't necessarily want you to respond, but just need you to listen as I vent". It's important to have an outlet to get things out of your head. I often realize that when I say the things that are in my head out loud, I realize that I either was overthinking, or the situation isn't as bad as it seemed. Find a trusted and experienced friend, mentor, or family member in whom you can express your innermost feelings to.

  • Write & Pray -Sometimes it’s best to simply not say anything at all and just write. Writing out your thoughts and even prayers are another way to analyze what’s going on in your mind and put things into perspective.
